Melbourne’s
very own Laura Whalley (M5) won a football medal last Thursday. Her team Stone
Dominoes won 2nd place in a tournament to win the title, ‘best young
girls’ team’ in Stoke. Laura is the captain of the team and led her team to
victory with a 3-1 win, but sadly lost 4-2 on the final game, but managed to
grab second place. She plays central defence - so did not score any goals, but
got her very own certificate and box of chocolates for being the ‘player of the
match’!
Congratulations
Laura, you make Melbourne proud!
Another big
well done to Ruby Watts (M5) who achieved getting a purple belt in kick boxing!
She has been attending kick boxing for 5 years and is only two belts away from
a black belt!
Well done again Ruby!
Even Mr South (M5 form tutor) has been getting sporty! He won two
medals during the holidays for mountain biking; one for coming in 4th
place and the other for coming in 7th place. Unfortunately, on one
race he rode a bit too fast and broke his collar bone (OUCH!).
But well done
anyway sir, keep active!
Do you know anyone else in Melbourne who is sporty? Comment below!
It is very nice to hear about everyone's achievements. from K3
